Recommendations for municipalities

-Finance the social infrastructures and active transport projects that favour a physically active life.
-Encourage mixed developments that allow people to do their shopping on foot or with a bicycle, towards various businesses and services in their neighbourhood.
-Encourage new forms of urbanism that will help the new neighbourhoods and new developments that make healthy lifestyles easier.

Recommendations of all of us

Integrate physical activity in your daily routine. In any possible situation, walk: use the stairs, park your car further away, get off the bus a stop too early. All those periods of inactivity add up and help us counter the daily recommendations, like "no time for that" and "too busy".

Are you nuts about your car?

This way,

-we generally discover that the automobile as well as the lifestyle that is associated with it has harmful effects on health,
-moreover, we've learned that pollution generated by the automobile reduce the longevity of the people that live in regions particularly affected by smog.
-Also, transport by car or by truck is the main contributor of greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming,
-not to mention the millions of deaths caused by road accidents.

On the light of all this, I think it is reasonable to try and distance us from the automobile disease. Yes, we like our cars; yes, we like the sensations they provide us; yes, they have a powerful status in our imagination...

But it is time for all of us to realize that cars are killing our future on this planet. I repeat. It is killing our future on this planet.

The most serious estimations on the oil reserves reveal that there is enough for about 30 years at the most. Our economic system is based on oil, and we're getting closer to a major economic crisis because we haven't yet found an alternative energy source that can replace fossil combustibles. Like I wrote before, hydrogen is not a fuel, but an energy transporter. Wars are declared because of our dependency of the automobile.

We must stop hiding our heads in the sand, because like the proverb says:

"Those who live because of the car will die because of the car"

It's as simple as that.
