This time around, it’s Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) struggling with ignition switch troubles and facing a blossoming number of recalls.

In this second round of recalls, FCA has recalled 703,000 minivans and SUVs with a defective ignition switch that can rotate out of position causing the vehicle to stall, lose power or even disable the airbags. These recalls include ’08-’10 Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, and Dodge Journey models. According to FCA officials, this new recall does not include any vehicles that were not part of the initial recall about a year ago.

Unlike the GM recalls over a similar situation, no deaths have been reported from ignition switch troubles in FCA vehicles. At the moment, there is no solid number on how many FCA vehicles have been affected in Canada.

For more information, contact your local Fiat-Chrysler dealer, especially if your vehicle is part of the recalled model years listed above.
