Police in Lausanne, Switzerland have just posted a shockingly brutal ad (French only) to raise awareness about the dangers of using a cell phone while walking down the streets.
According to local authorities, 1,100 people have died or suffered major injuries from inattention on the road in 2013, and 25% of the accidents were caused by various distractions. As a matter of fact, two out of three Swiss pedestrians admit to using their cell phone at some point during their commutes.
Will this macabre commercial be enough to dissuade young, tech-obsessed urbanites from texting while walking? If not, what will it take?
