Porsche announced the investment of 80 to 100 million US dollars to build new cutting-edge headquarters, near the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta GA.
Nearly 400 employees will be working there at the building’s inauguration during the second half of 2013. The new facilities will house the financial and sales/customer service departments under the same roof for the first time, as well as a technical service and training centre and a road course.
The 19.44-acre track will be used to test vehicle handling both on and off road, include damaged pavement segments and host a youth driving academy.
The facilities will also feature a restaurant, conference halls and a gym.
The goal is to pique the public’s interest and make the Porsche brand accessible to everyone. The automaker is looking to demonstrate to Porsche dealers and clients that it believes in the strength and growth potential of the American market.
