The world's most recognizable "high performance" sport utility vehicle has kept the competition at bay with the additions of more power for 2005 and other attractive options, but a new generation of more powerful luxury SUVs from rival automakers is about to emerge. Insiders report that the Cayenne's nose will be heavily revised. This update includes new, more streamlined headlamps, which have been reshaped to reflect the Boxster and Carrera GT, and more angular hood lines. Another change comes in the form of a heavily restyled front bumper that incorporates reshaped intakes, and the removal of the thin grille on the bumpers' leading edge. This change allows all three grilles, the two at each side and the large central unit, to line up height-wise.
