The 31st edition of the Rallye Baie des Chaleurs will take place tomorrow and Saturday and will showcase the largest grid of its history with 52 cars at the start.

Canadians Antoine L'Estage and Nathalie Richard will be looking for victory in the Gaspe Peninsula. They lost the lead of the title race after abandoning the Rocky Mountain Rally due to mechanical problems, last month.

They must score high points this week-end in order to stay in the hunt for a third consecutive championship title.

Mathieu and Laurence-Fanny L'Estage, Antoine's brother and sister, will also be racing this week-end. Yannick Napert will be Mathieu's co-driver and Joël Levac will try to help Laurence-Fanny to get a good result at The Baie.

First stage of this third rallye of the year for the Canadian Rallye Championship will begin at 9AM tomorrow and is schedule to end around 6PM. Second stage should have the same schedule, on Saturday.

"This event is really special. First there is 17 classification stages - around 200km of pure speed - and second, the drivers and the cars as much as the assistance team get very tired after a while. This is why you can expect about everything to happen at The Baie" explained Mathieu L'Estage, who considers a Top-5 would be an awesome result for his team.

Lots of American and Canadian teams will be at The Baie this week-end, which explains the 52 cars grid.
