After months and months of delays, owners of Ford Mustang Boss 302s will finally be able to get their hands on the TracKey technology, set to be introduced in November at the SEMA show.
It’s a major victory for Ford, who often clashed with the California Air Ressources Board (CARB) in the past.
Until just recently, the government agency maintained the TracKey did not meet its standards and thus could not be marketed.
A close collaboration between Ford Racing and CARB allowed the automaker to circumvent the legal barriers, and now the Blue Oval brand will take advantage of the Specialty Equipment Market Association show to announce the launch of the key in North America.
The system actually consists of a secondary key that drivers can use to boost the performance of their Mustang Boss 302.
When inserted, it automatically adjusts over 300 vehicle parameters, turning the Mustang into a real beast.
