I do not know if you would call it a saying or statement but many of you, I am sure, have heard: "It's not who you are, it's who you know". I firmly believe that this applies in every walk of life. Whether you are a lawyer, an accountant, a doctor or a car guy, no one can do it alone. Any project that a person undertakes requires either the assistance or expertise or both from someone else.

Think about it. I replaced the engine, transmission and suspension in my car. In fact, my friend and I did all of it. In a project such as this, there is always a need for extras. For example, we needed parts. We know of good people who can sell us parts at a reasonable price. If that person did not hold or have the part in stock, we would turn to another friend who, in turn, could call someone else in the event that the piece that was needed was difficult to come by. We also required used articles; we have other acquaintances in this field. As my buddy and I laboured on, we hit a few snags. On a couple of occasions, we contacted another friend that was able to help out. This all reminds me of another saying that goes something like: Rome was not built by one person... or something like that.

Of course, one has to return the favour. A person cannot expect to get everything for "free". A friendship is always a mutual affair. If I can help them with some sort of counselling, advice or as an extra set of hands, I will gladly do so. Good and trustworthy friends are few and far between. When you find them, you can quickly become a rich person as the wealth of people they know quickly become people you know. I think it is important to always appreciate what we have, especially when it comes to other living beings.

I guess what I am trying to do is thank all of my "associates" that are helping and have helped me out with my little project.
