Canadian race car driver Jacques Villeneuve faced some troubles Friday during the two first free practice session of the Copa Caixa race held at the Autodromo de Interlagod in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Marcos Gomes, nicknamed “The King of Interlagos” and who drives a Peugeot, set the fastest time this morning with a time of 1m41.605.
Jacques Villeneuve, in the second group, had a difficult time as he could only set a best time in 1m44.851, only good enough for 31st place out of 33.
Villeneuve drives a Peugeot sponsored by Shell V-Power.

During the second session held in the afternoon, the Canadian set the 28th time (1m43.194) against a 1m41.077 set by Daniel Serra in first place.
Qualfying for the one-million dollar race will be held tommorrow and the 70-minute race will go green on Sunday.
