In just three years, Tesla has installed more than 500 Superchargers around the world, offering Model S owners some 2,800 charging outlets, the Business Finance News reports. Nearly half of those are in the U.S. and 15 more in Canada.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk insisted on accelerating the deployment of Superchargers in North America and beyond, and the 500th was recently implemented in Moers, Germany. Expect that number to increase significantly in the next few years.
Charging, by the way, is totally free of charge to Tesla customers.
Naturally, owners of the upcoming Tesla Model X crossover and the highly anticipated Model 3 entry-level sedan will be able to take advantage of these Superchargers.
