8th place: Chevrolet Silverado – 19,233 units
GM’s full-size pickups are starting to get long in the tooth, at least compared to more recent efforts from Ford and Chrysler. But the Chevrolet Silverado still has plenty to offer, including a plethora of cab and bed configurations, trim levels and options. The 1500-series pickups can be equipped with one of five engines, including a segment-exclusive hybrid powertrain (shared with the GMC Sierra).
And let’s not forget the Silverado HD, which can be specified with a 322-hp, 6.0-litre V8 or a stump-pulling 6.6L Duramax turbodiesel V8 that serves up 397 horses and 765 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, the HD can tow up to 17,800 lbs.
