Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax

GM's twin brands were the latest to enter the 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine market for light-duty trucks. But instead of imitating Ram and Ford and their 3.0-litre V6, GM chose the path of a 6-cylinder inline-powered engine... with a 3.0L displacement as well!
In this case, the Duramax block delivers 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque - statistics very similar to those of its two rivals out of Detroit. Note that the average fuel consumption possible with either GM pickup is 9.9L/100 km.
