A decade ago, none of the models on our new Top 10 listing of the best luxury subcompact SUVs even existed – which is a testament to how quickly the industry is changing these days.
Earlier this fall we gave you our ranking of the 10 Best Subcompact SUVs on the market in 2018. Now it’s the turn of the premium models to take centre stage. There’s no particular order to the ranking, so think of it as a 10-way tie – unless you read between the lines of some of our descriptions!

We start with the most recent of the premium subcompacts to join the fray. Actually, the littlest of Audi’s utility models first appeared in Europe back in 2011, but it wasn’t until 2015 that North American consumers got access to it.
We’re now on to the second generation of the model, and Audi has messed little with its recipe. The design has evolved somewhat and the interior is a little roomier (a needed improvement over the previous version), but the powertrain stays the same.
