9 — Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Conversely, Jeep decided to bring the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer names back to life in the service of a not-too-distantly related vehicle. At the time, these SUVs often decorated with fake wood panels drank like fish, but gas at that time sold for less than 50 cents a gallon, so generally who cared?
Those Wagoneers became legendary and are highly sought after today. An 80s Jeep Grand Wagoneer that has been well maintained can easily sell for $40,000 to $50,000.
Bringing back the name was a good idea, but sticking it on an SUV that's almost as gas-guzzling and even bigger than the original may have been questionable strategy. The new Wagoneers run the risk of being models wrong for their time; fortunately, the model is on the doorstep of electrification.
