3rd place: 2023 Kia Rio LX+ $19,260 + $1,700 in fees

For those maybe wondering if the subcompact car is even still part of the Canadian automotive landscape, the answer is yep. Though barely - the smallest segment of the Canadian car market is now represented by only three models. The most expensive of the three? This Kia.
Oddly enough, despite its technical closeness to the Hyundai Venue, the Rio LX+ is only $1,000 cheaper than its more-SUV-ish cousin. What's more, the Rio LX+ comes with a manual transmission. For the Rio LX+ with an IVT transmission, consumers have to pay a few dollars more than for the most-affordable Venue.
