7. Toyota Tacoma
Many fans of motorized outdoor activities and caravanning actually prefer smaller pickups due to their greater maneuverability in urban settings. The Toyota Tacoma is tailor-made for that crowd. Available with a 4-cylinder engine or a powerful 3.5L V6 with either 6-speed manual or automatic transmission (as well as, it’s important to note, available four-wheel drive), the Tacoma can pull up to 6,500 lbs (with the V6); with the smaller 2.7L 4-cylinder that capacity is only 3,500 lbs. Note as well that the Tacoma is deliverable in a more-extreme TRD configuration more suited to off-roading than to on-road travel.
