1. Ford F-150
It would be frankly dishonest not to place the crown for top pickup in Canada on the head of the model that’s been the best-selling vehicle of its kind since… well, since Ronald Reagan resided in the White House. King of vehicle sales in North America, Canada included, the F-150 has in some years sold over 1 million + units in the U.S., and 100,000 north of the border.
All of that doesn’t preclude there being a caveat or two. The reliability track record of some versions equipped with the EcoBoost engine is spotty. The high volume of sales of after-market parts tells us a lot.
If we had to choose a version of the F-150 for our Auto123.com garage, it would one fitted with the 5.0L V8. Can’t go wrong…
Here's our review of the 2018 Ford F-150, our review of the 2018 Ford F-150 Diesel, and the specifications for the model.

Conclusion
This countdown brings home the point that the pickup segments are rife with choice and quality in 2018. You’ll have to make your choice regarding which sub-segment is right for you: the smaller models nearer the bottom of the ranking, or the big Alpha males nearer the top.
You may also have noticed that the Honda Ridgeline is nowhere to be found on the list. In fact, this model, as well as its rivals in development at Hyundai and at Volkswagen, is technically a pickup truck, but doesn’t sit on a genuine truck structure, making a comparison difficult.
Really, we see their natural place more among the sport utility models of this world.
We leave you with the thought of a Jeep pickup. It’s coming in the next year.
