4- Toyota Tundra: The American pickup with Japanese roots
When Japanese giant Toyota first tried to take on the North American truck market, it was forced to revise its initial strategy of not offering a V8 engine in its lineup. Another change the company implemented was to have all Tundra models built at its new plant in Texas.
In contrast with its American competitors, however, the Tundra is only available in the 1500 iteration with a V8 gasoline engine on this continent. On the other hand, consumers can choose between multiple available cabs and beds. Its four-wheel-drive versions such as the sporty TRD Pro models have become favorites of 4x4 lovers.
