Best compact car: Nissan Sentra

Unfortunately for Honda, its compact sedan that seemed unbeatable just a few years ago is in free fall. Even in its fortress of Quebec, in 2022, the Honda Civic was overtaken by the Toyota Corolla. Meanwhile, however, there’s a certain Nissan Sentra which, since its redesign, is frankly more attractive, notably because of its excellent chassis, but also for its overall driving pleasure.
And with a base price closer to $20,000 than $30,000, Nissan's compact sedan also meets the “attractive price” criterion prized by so many Canadian consumers since the start of the current inflationary period. And it's not as if the Sentra is a bare-bones car when it comes to equipment.
