Subcompact SUV: Kia Seltos
Certainly one of the nice surprises of the pandemic “era”, the Kia Seltos quickly established itself as a favorite in Canada last year, despite entering a crowded and fiercely contested category. If you’re not familiar it with the Seltos, know that it’s essentially a cousin of the also-popular Hyundai Kona, but with a little more space on offer.
Last year, the Kona earned the best bet title in this segment, but the Seltos manages to do better than the Kona, precisely because of that extra space: it is just more practical than its Hyundai counterpart. The driving experience is very good, as is the quality of the materials, not to mention the fuel consumption, which is quite reasonable.
