2 - Compact car: Toyota Corolla
We must give credit where it’s due: the Japanese automaker has raised its game a notch with this twelfth-generation edition of the Corolla, the best-selling car globally in history we remind you.
Reliable, comfortable and even prettier (than the old model), this Corolla is also now more fun to drive. What’s more, it wouldn't be surprising to see a GR Corolla appear on the market in a few months, with Toyota possibly loosing that performance-minded edition on the market to harass Volkswagen and its Golf GTI.
This iconic Toyota car has even been available in hybrid version in Canada for a few months now. As a safe bet, the Toyota Corolla is hard to beat.
“…while the Corolla is not and never has been a car fit for absolutely everyone, it’s come closer to that ideal than any other. In just under 55 years, Toyota has sold over 45 million cars with the Corolla nameplate on them.”
