Production of Vietnamese newcomer VinFast’s VF 8 and VF 9 models is underway, but the company is not resting on its laurels.

Indeed, if you’re going to compete in the EV CUV sphere, you’re likely going to need to go small. Smaller vehicles are easier to live with in the city environments where EVs thrive, so it behooves any EV startup to put their hat in that ring.

Enter the VF 6 and VF 7 compact crossovers, set to do battle in the competitive B and C segments. The VF 6 will be available only as a FWD vehicle making either 174 hp or 201 hp and 184 or 228 ft-lb of torque. The VF 7 can be had with either FWD or AWD, and up to 349 hp and 368 ft-lb.

Both vehicles feature the brand’s distinctive V-shaped DRL and emblem combo on their front fascia, two-tone wheels and robust plastic cladding around the wheels and rocker panels.
