Los Angeles 2022: The Top Reveals of the Auto Show (And Yes, There Were 10!)

Come late 2023, Subaru will be bringing to market the updated new edition of its popular compact. Here at the show, the Japanese brand showed off the next Impreza’s slick new styling and new interior tech and revealed it’s bringing back a popular trim in the process.

It’s been a few years since we’ve seen the sporty RS trim but it’s now making its triumphant return, bringing with it unique 18-inch wheels and an upgraded version of its 2.5L Boxer 4-cylinder engine good for 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque, fed to all four wheels via a CVT with 8-speed manual mode.

There is no manual gearbox, unfortunately, and the sedan body style will no longer be available as all Imprezas will be in five-door format.
