The four-ring German carmaker is another industry player with big plans to electrify its lineup. Most of the all-electric products are still in the development phase, however, so to placate its eco-conscious customers, it offers an in-betweenie in the form of the Q5 TFSI e.

And don't think that performance has been compromised in this… compromise solution. A simple push of the right foot is enough to extract 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque from the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder, which is brilliantly assisted by its electric counterpart, of course.

In electric mode, however, range is limited to 40 km, which is frankly disappointing. In two or three years this will seem quaint…
