The new 2007 Lexus flagship is here. Now called the LS460, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class fighter now features not only a larger and more imposing body but also, a new more powerful 4.6L V8 that puts out 380 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is an industry-first 8-speed automatic that drives the rear wheels. Performance will be impressive with an estimated 5.5-second time to 100 km/h. The cabin boasts an impressive array of luxury items including a 19-speaker audio system and rear reclining heated and massaging seats. The LS will be available in a regular or extended wheelbase.
Now that the new Camry has arrived, Lexus introduces their new version of the 2007 ES. Because it has inherited the 3.5L V6 from the Avalon and Camry, the name has been modified to ES350. This time, the output is 272 hp and 254 lb/ft of torque. If the old ES was strictly aimed at an older crowd, the new ES should be able to attract slightly younger buyers thanks to improved driving dynamics. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic driving the front wheels. Standard features will include a premium audio system, 8 air bags, traction and stability control and SmartAccess keyless entry. It will be available as of April this year in three trim levels.
For 2007, the RX will receive the 3.5L V6 that develops 270 hp shared with many other Toyota products. The balance of the truck will remain unchanged untill its next scheduled overhaul. Pricing will start at $51,550 and is available now.
