If you play the guitar or if you're a Guitar Hero enthusiast, the name Fender will likely ring a bell. The legendary guitar and bass manufacturer will help design car audio systems for the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle and Jetta GLI.
Featuring a Panasonic interface, the first system will use nine speakers, including front door-mounted units with dual voice coils, to deliver a low-distortion sound for drivers who prefer to listen to their favourite tunes than the engine's growl.
