Next month at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, we’ll see the world premiere of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, a new concept with a 110mm longer wheelbase than the next-generation Tiguan already sold overseas.
Offering more interior room and seating for up to seven, the new, more flexible Tiguan Allspace will be launched successively in North America, China, and Europe beginning in the early part of the summer.
Here’s the twist: The European version of the lengthened Tiguan will be given the added designation “Allspace,” while models for North America and China will simply be called "Tiguan." A coupe variant is even a possibility. More details will be announced in Detroit, so stay tuned!
This is shaping up to be a big period for SUVs at Volkswagen. In case you missed it, the all-new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas midsize SUV launched this fall and will go on sale in 2017.
