General Motors just confirmed the rumours that have been flying around the web the past couple of days, announcing to the world that Cadillac will be taking the green plunge initiated by the Volt, with the Converj set to join the ranks of the XTS, ATS, CTS and SRX under the moniker ELR.
As the car is still in the design phase, the automaker didn’t release any information as to performance, price or launch dates.
We do know, however, that the ELR will use a powertrain heavily inspired by the Volt’s, with a lithium-ion battery, electric engine and four-cylinder gas engine. The 2+2 configuration will allow for four passengers.
We can expect some modifications designed to enhance performance and set the model apart from its Chevy counterpart.
