Brabus took the wraps off their tuned version of the Mercedes SLS AMG at the Essen Motor Show in Germany. Although the car only receives 10 additional horsepower thanks to a new exhaust system, it benefits from reduced weight and a sleeker look.
Outside, the SLS got lowered by 1.2 inches with a driver-selectable, height-adjustable suspension developed in cooperation with Bilstein. The new exhaust system shows four slanted outlets and can also be managed by the driver, offering either a quieter sound than the production exhaust or a more aggressive note when the sport mode is chosen.
In order to give the SLS an even more muscular appearance, Brabus used special alloy wheels that widen the rear axle track by 20 mm, covered by carbon fiber wheel arches. To further reduce lift, Brabus equipped the SLS with a front spoiler, a rear spoiler and a rear diffuser that create an even better aerodynamic balance on the car.
Despite the bigger wheel size, they weigh 12 percent less than the stock alloys, which reduces unsprung weight.
Inside, Brabus offers a wide selection of colors and designs created with leather and Alcantara. Each car produced will obviously be tailored to the customer’s taste.
