Ford will unveil the beta version and new social networking components of the MyFord Mobile application at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (January 10-13) in Las Vegas.
Drivers of the new Ford Focus Electric, which is set to go on sale in the first half of 2012, will be able to monitor charging, find charging stations using MapQuest and plan trips accordingly.
A number of features will also delight social media users. For instance, they will have the opportunity to share tips and advices on how to maximize their vehicle's range, while uploading their driving achievements and statistics to Facebook and Twitter, among other platforms.
MyFord Mobile was announced by Ford in early 2011 as ''a social platform to revolutionize the EV driving experience.''
