The Automobile Club of Monaco has planned the biggest and longest of its rallyes since 1995 for the 2012 return of the World Rally Championship in the Principality.
The participants will have 270 competitive miles to run next January, 60 more than this year's Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier, according to Autosport.
The rally will start in Valence to finish in the heart of Monaco, on Sunday morning. The three previous events finished at midnight in the mountains.
The event will comprise a total of 17 stages and 1043 miles. The Monte Carlo Rally was last part of the WRC schedule in 2008.
