Petter Solberg will drive a privately owned Citroen Xsara on Rally Norway, and is planning to race other rounds of the 2009 World Rally Championship.
Left without a drive after Subaru's retirement from the WRC, the 2003 world championship is aiming to keep on competing this year, in order to prepare himself for the 2010 season, for which he is targeting to become a driver for Volkswagen or Proton, two manufacturers that are still considering their entry in the new-regulation WRC championship.
