Spring Break at a Car Show!

Car lovers in Quebec will be heading in large numbers this week to the 2018 edition of the Quebec City Auto Show, taking place from March 6-11 inclusively. We’ll be covering the major events and launches, of course, starting with this quick look at the schedule of events.

As per tradition, a gala charity event held on Monday evening kicks off the festivities. The Auto Show itself will feature some 850 participants from different sectors of the automotive industry.

Once again this year, attendees at the show will be able to do a quick road test of some pretty exciting models from Porsche, Chevrolet, Jaguar and more; registration is free and handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Mitsubishi Motors’ winter driving course is back for 2018 as well.

Unsurprisingly, electric cars will be front and centre again this year in Quebec City, starting with the new Honda Clarity PHEV, the redesigned next-generation 2019 Honda Insight, the highly-anticipated newly remodeled Nissan LEAF and the exciting new Hyundai Kona, not to mention Jaguar’s award-winning new 2018 Jaguar E-Pace.

Other models that will be garnering strong attention include the new Maserati Levante SUV and the breathtaking Lamborghini Aventador SV. Among models that Quebecers will be seeing for the first time, BMW’s i8 Roadster, Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Cross and the new RAM 1500 Sport edition, exclusive to Canada.

One new element to the Quebec City Auto Show this year is a Canadian Armed Forces Zone. Ever wondered what it’s like inside our military vehicles? Now you get the chance to climb inside, and even use night-vision goggles! Then, take the experience further with a virtual reality presentation of members of our Armed Forces in action in artillery gunfire exercises and training activities. Vehicles on hand will include the VBL 6 (Light Armored Vehicle), VBTP (Tactical Patrol Vehicle) and MRZR.

If racing is more your thing, you can head over to the X Motion Racing Simulator, where you can try out video games using a virtual reality headset. Then there are a dedicated family zone, product area and classic car section.
