2003 Hyundai Accent - Good Cheap Fun!

You might think of the Hyundai Accent as only A-to-B transportation, but it also offers some good cheap fun. For 2003 the subcompact has been given an attractive makeover and additional features making it an even more enticing entry-level car, but the base price stays unchanged at a very affordable $12,395.

First of all the, last year's Accent was already cute. Hyundai has improved it by making changes to the hood character line, headlamps and grille. Essentially it's only a facelift, but one that ties this model slightly closer in line with its larger siblings. New clear headlamps with wrap-around turn signals are larger and canted rearward, giving it a feistier appearance. The front grille is larger too, with chrome accents to spruce up its image. A new side molding, wider than that on the outgoing model, is more functional protecting the doors from dings and scratches caused by parking lot mishaps. The GSi side sill moldings are also improved. Redesigned delta-shaped combination taillights also improve the overall look. Again a rear spoiler comes as part of the GSi package.

The Accent has always offered a comfortable, functional interior. For 2003 this continues with multi-density foam for the seat cushions and backs, enhancing comfort and improving lateral support. Height-adjustable front shoulder belt anchors reduce neck chafing while seat height-adjustment aids visibility for 'height challenged' drivers and makes reaching priority controls easier, improving safety.
