Tech, tech and more tech, but these models make them easy to use

Volkswagen Jetta

This is the least-expensive car on WardsAuto’s 2018 Best UX list, but that only makes its in-cabin experience and roster of drive assists systems all that much more impressive.

The new 2019 edition of the Jetta is the debut of the model’s seventh generation, and it has been thoroughly revised for the occasion. Interior materials are generally of high-quality materials, and for the first time the Jetta gets VW’s Digital Cockpit reconfigurable instrument cluster. WardsAuto loved the new graphics, maps and functionalities.

The Jetta punches above its class in terms of the interior features it offers. WardsAuto notes in particular the presence of ventilated front seats, BeatsAudio premium sound, rapid Bluetooth phone pairing and text-to-voice messaging. All of this is via a redesigned 8-inch touchscreen that is intuitive to use despite the vast array of menus and options it accesses.

Lastly, like all cars that earned a place on this Best UX list, the Jetta comes with a range of drive assists systems like adaptive cruise, autonomous braking lane keep assist and more.

The speed with which systems previously restricted to premium vehicles are becoming standard features on affordable cars like the Jetta is truly breathtaking. It will be interesting to see what VW includes in its 2024 Jetta…
