The minivan category may not be overflowing with contestants, but the ones that are there are of particularly high quality these days. Call it a mini-Golden Age for the minivan. There’s the Chrysler Pacifica, the new Kia Carnival and trusty Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.

KBB’s choice is the Sienna, first because it’s a Toyota (which means reliability, durability, resale value, low maintenance costs, etc. etc.), but also because it does the minivan, family-transporting thing so well.

What KBB liked:

- The usual Toyota strengths (reliability, durability, resale value, low maintenance costs)
- Massive, comfortable and practical interior space
- Good fuel economy from hybrid powertrain
- Great attention to details inside
- Lots of amenities for those long road trips
- Surprisingly dynamic hybrid powertrain
