Mazda’s largest crossover promises to put the ‘Sport’ back into the ‘Crossover Sport Utility Vehicle’. By delivering the brand’s promise dynamic driving to the 7-passenger scene, CX-9 is seeking test-drives by shoppers with high expectations for family-hauler excitement. With plenty of power, all wheel drive and a sophisticated cabin, those on board are treated to exciting and comfortable travels all year round.
Don’t mistake the CX-9 for one of those blocky truck-like SUV’s on today’s market. By integrating Mazda’s new styling language into their largest model, designers were able to make a machine that looks one hundred percent sleek and sexy. Large alloy wheels, flared fenders and a sculpted body with plenty of character lines suggest the compact excitement of a coupe, while dual outlet exhaust and fog-lamps hint at the CX-9’s sporty side.
Said sporty side is powered up by a 3.7 litre V6 engine with 273 horsepower. By default, power is sent to the front wheels by a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. All wheel drive is available.
The performance is enjoyed from a high-class interior with contrasting colors and materials, as well as features like heated leather seats, navigation, Bluetooth and more. A split-folding rear bench seat adds flexibility in the cargo department, and a 6-speaker CD audio system with MP3 compatibility is standard.
On the safety front, all CX-9 models get advanced airbags, advanced antilock brakes and a dynamic stability control system to keep everyone on board protected and under control.
The 2010 Mazda CX-9 family starts under $38,000 and is available for test-drives now.
