The 2016 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is out, and for the first time in 27 years a mainstream brand appears at the top.

Kia indeed recorded the fewest problems per 100 vehicles at 83, followed by Porsche (84), Hyundai (92), Toyota (93), and BMW (94).

At the bottom of the rankings, we find MINI (127), Land Rover (132), Volvo (152), Fiat (174), and smart (216). The industry average this year is 105 problems per 100 vehicles.

J.D.Power released different graphics showing what the most frequent problems are, as well as a whole bunch of other interesting information.

J.D. Power also published a list of vehicles with the highest quality score in each category, so check out its website to see if yours landed in any top 3.
