Following its world premiere in Los Angeles last November, the all-new, second-generation 2017 Mazda CX-5 today made its first appearance in Canada at the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.

We know that production has already begun in Japan, that the new CX-5 will go on sale in late March, and that a 2.2L SKYACTIV-D turbo-diesel engine will be added to the lineup sometime in the fourth quarter as a hybrid-challenging option.

Mazda has increased the CX-5’s quality and refinement levels, updated its KODO design language, and aimed to offer a pleasant ride feel that everyone on board can enjoy—not just the driver.

On the road, the 15% stiffer chassis, the enhanced handling of G-Vectoring Control, and the 10% quieter cabin will make the driving experience even more rewarding. SKYACTIV-G gasoline engines with direct injection will continue to be offered, namely the 155hp 2.0L unit and a slightly revised 187hp 2.5L, with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions available.

Here are pricing details:

  • GX $24,900
  • GS $29,100
  • GT $34,700
