The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is fast approaching, and once again this year several manufacturers are using the unique occasion to present some incredible prototype models or production vehicles.

Audi will be on hand to unveil its PB 18 e-tron concept, which pays tribute to the R 18 e-tron, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The prototype was conceived by the automaker design studio in Malibu, California.

In the view of the manufacturer, the concept represents a design template for future electric models aimed at performance and pure driving fans. The PB designation in the model’s name refers simply to Pebble Beach.

The car will make its debut at the Laguna Seca track during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Reception. During the activities surrounding the Pebble Beach event, the famous track will host classic-car races over a three-day period.

The PB 18 e-tron will also make an appearance during the Quail exhibit, which features several exotic sports models, as well as at the main event of the week-long series of events in Monterey, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance itself, on Sunday August 26.
