First featured in a series of ads shown in 2013, the Barkleys family of canine Subaru owners is making a return this year in a new ad campaign. Subaru announced this week that the driving doggy family will appear in five different ads, doing a number of different activities including driving their beloved Subaru around town, dealing with other canine drivers and solving some doggy bedtime struggles with an evening drive.

Entitled “Dog Tested, Dog Approved”, the ads were produced by Carmichael Lynch for Subaru of America, and will start to appear this month, with all five ads scheduled to broadcast during Animal Planet’s PUPPY BOWL XII on February 7. Subaru is sponsoring the show for the sixth time in 2016.

According to Subaru, eight out of 10 Subaru owners have pets, making the theme of the ad campaign a natural choice for the carmaker. In fact the campaign is part of an encompassing Subaru program called “Subaru Loves Pets”. Subaru partners with the ASPCA in sponsoring pat adoption programs in the U.S., and hosted the Subaru Pet Hall of Fame event in 2015.
