Audi drivers Edoardo Mortara and Mattias Ekström have just returned from a trip to Moscow, where they gave Russians a taste of things to come.
On August 4, the DTM will make its first trip to Russia to race at the Moscow Raceway. According to Mortara, the fans there are already getting excited.
"They were clearly thrilled," said Mortara speaking of the Russians attending the gathering. "I haven't signed such a large number of autographs as I did at this event in a long time."
The crowds massed around the Red Square had definitely heard of the series before.
"I think the people have a great interest in motorsport," Mortara added. "Their questions showed me that they definitely know the DTM and are paying attention to it."
"I was impressed with the hospitality and interest of the Russian people."
