Marc VDS’ BMW Z4 driven by Maxime Martin set the pole position for the Spa 24 Hours race.
Local hero Maxime Martin (GT1 world championship contender with a VDS’ Ford GT) takes the best performance of the qualifying with a fast lap on a drying track in the last moments of the night session.
Martin beat Maxime Soulet’s Pro Speed Porsche 997, while the Autorlando’s 997 driven by Paolo Ruberti takes third position ahead of Peter Kox and his Lamborghini Gallardo.
Meanwhile, it was a disapointing session for both Audi and Ferrari. After they dominated qualifying sessions 1 and 2, the R8 LMS were beaten in the night session, and the first Audi, driven by DTM star Mattias Ekström, dropped down to 7th on the grid. The first F458 stands in 8th place, just ahead of the first Mercedes SLS.
But the race is going to be long and tough, with very uncertain weather conditions, as usual in Francorchamps.
