Pirelli
This Italian tire manufacturer needs no introduction, of course. Its winter tire offering is varied, starting with the Ice Zero Friction (FR), a studless product capable of matching the performance of competing products. This year, Pirelli announces its Cinturato Winter range, bringing back a classic name for revised touring-car tires.
Among the major new products is the PZero Winter, which according to Pirelli provides performance similar to the summer PZero but for winter conditions. As you can guess, this is a tire designed for performance cars.
If you own a high-performance car with low-sitting tires, you should consult the Pirelli catalog and check in its Sottozero Serie II and Sottozero 3 lines. I was able to confirm the effectiveness of these tires in winter conditions on several press vehicles, including, believe it or not, a Mustang GT!
Some SUV owners will prefer the Scorpion Winter, which we’ll say more about in the section of the guide dealing with winter tires for larger SUVs and trucks.
Incidentally, for owners of performance cars equipped with run-flat tires, Pirelli offers the Ice Zero FR of the same type.
