Toyo
It didn't take long for this Japanese brand to make a name for itself in the winter tire business. Toyo is attacking the coming cold season with other, less performance-focused versions of its latest Observe GSI-6 that we tested last February. These tires are also featured in our report Already New Tires for Next Winter. In the past, we had noted that Toyo tires were a little noisy, but that’s a problem the manufacturer has largely corrected.
In addition, Toyo recently launched its own line of winter tires under the name Celsius. Available in a variety of sizes for 14-in to 20-in rims, this is an alternative to more-aggressive winter tires for motorists who don't drive much and want to avoid the hassle of fall and spring tire changes.
