HONDA'S INVOLVEMENT IN THE 2002 TORONTO INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

For your reference Honda Canada Inc. will be unveiling and or featuring the following new vehicles at the 2002 Canadian International Auto Show.

HONDA

Honda Pilot prototype (only Canadian appearance)

• To go on sale in summer 2002
• Based on the Odyssey platform
• V-6 engine with 5 speed automatic transmission
• VTM-4 Four Wheel Drive system
• 8 passenger seating
• Class leading interior volume and flexibility
• To be built at Honda Canada Manufacturing, Alliston Ontario

2003 Honda Civic Hybrid

• Gasoline/Electric Hybrid powerplant
• 1.3 i-DSI gasoline engine with electric motor assist
• Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
• Fuel economy (Hwy) estimated at 3.6 L per 100km (78 mpg)
• The new i-DSI engine features two spark plugs per cylinder and a cylinder-idling system that reduces internal friction by 50% allowing better use of regenerative braking
• IMA battery and power unit is 50% smaller and lighter than Honda Insight system
• Best acceleration and fuel economy performance for 5 passenger Hybrid vehicle
• Proven Honda Civic design
• 5 star NHTSA and "Good" IIHS safety ratings
• To go on sale in Canada in spring 2002
