A report by Motoring suggests that Hyundai may develop a full-size SUV based on the Genesis sedan. Hyundai Australia's PR boss, Bill Thomas, said the idea is nothing more than a wishlist agenda item for Hyundai's CEO in North America, David Zuchowski.
Thomas added that this Hyundai SUV would be slightly larger than a Jeep Grand Cherokee and offer seating for up to seven if given the green light for production. It would cost more than $40,000 in the U.S., making it a potential rival for the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Audi Q7.
The new Hyundai SUV based on the Genesis would be equally at home in the Australian Outback. Whatever the plans are, the next few months should provide a clearer picture.
