That’s right, the brand-new MINI John Cooper Works has been unleashed on the streets after making its debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
This most powerful MINI ever features a 2.0L MINI TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine that produces 231 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, and it will hit the 100km/hr mark from a standstill in just 6.3 seconds (with the 6-speed manual… and that’s the only transmission you should be concerned with it you’re buying a MINI JCW).
MINI really took their motorsport history to heart when engineering this brand new MINI JCW version, equipping the little beast with revised suspension, brakes, and overall dynamics, as well as four piston Brembo front brakes. Power is, as it always has been, sent to the front wheels only and there is an available 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission (don’t do it).
Of course, the new MINI John Cooper Works will feature distinctive styling cues, along with a rich, sporty exhaust note we’ve come to appreciate and love in the JCW hatchbacks.
