Details are still scarce for the 2020 Scrambler pickup

It’s no secret that Jeep has been working on a pickup version of its immensely popular Jeep Wrangler, the 2019 edition of which just this week got its media presentation. But the date of the new pickup’s debut was still unclear – until now.

The Autoblog website has reported that a press release related to the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show in late November mention a “pickup truck from Jeep”. The Jeep Scrambler Forum blog for its part published an image of a dealer memo providing more details about the coming pickup.

The launch of the firm’s first new pickup in nearly 30 years will take place on November 28th.

No one has any precise details as yet regarding the features and specifications for the Scrambler, but the expectation is that it will be offered initially with two different engines: a 4-cylinder turbo and a V6. This is based on the configurations currently available for the Wrangler JL.

Here’s what that dealer memo mentions in regards to the new Scrambler pickup:

- Authentic Jeep design
- Jeep off-road capability
- Real truck capability
- 15 class-exclusive innovations
- Next-generation advanced safety systems
- Next-generation infotainment systems including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The Scrambler name, you may recall, was last used for the pickup version of Jeep’s CJ-8 model, which was produced between 1981 and 1986.

The Los Angeles Auto Show gets underway on November 30, and of course we’ll be on hand for all the festivities!
