Lexus used the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to unveil a completely redesigned GS, more dynamic looking than ever and promising a more spacious and functional cabin.

The grille – set to become an integral part of all future Lexus products – as well as the aggressive stance highlight with flair how the automaker plans to offer more precise and engaging handling than ever.

Note the revamped subframe designed to house a new multilink suspension, as well as the stiffer platform using lighter materials such as aluminum.

Front passengers will enjoy roomier perches as well as relocated audio and AC controls. The driver’s seat position has been modified to offer greater visibility, and the trunk (25% bigger) is easier to access thanks to a wider, deeper opening.

The S-Flow automatic AC, which detects where passengers are seated in the car and directs airflow accordingly, will be delivered standard and can be adjusted via a dial also used for the optional navigation system.

The cabin will feature LED ambient lighting and be trimmed in three different types of wood alongside contrasting stitching.

The first deliveries are slated for 2012, but Lexus hasn’t mentioned any precise dates yet.
